How to make chicken tikka witth salad and rice

Hi everyone today ill be telling you how to make a chicken tikka with a side salad also with some boiled rice.

What you will need for the rice
  • rice (dry weight)         300g

Step 1-Pick and wash the long-grain rice. Add to plenty of boiling salted water.

Step 2-Stir to the boil and simmer gently until tender (approx., 12-15 minutes).

Step 3-Pour into a sieve and rinse well under cold running water, then boiling water. Drain and leave in sieve ,placed over a bowl and covered with a cloth.

Step 4-Place on a tray and keep hot.

Step 5-Serve separately in a vegetable dish.

What you will need for the chicken tikka and the salad
  • Chicken, cut for sauté  1x 1 1/2kg
  • natural yoghurt             125ml
  • grated ginger                1 tsp
  • ground coriander           1 tsp
  • ground cumin                1 tsp
  • chilli powder                  1tsp
  • clove garlic, crushed and chopped   1
  • lemon,juice of               1/2
  • tomato puree                50g
  • onion finely chopped      50g
  • oil                                60ml
  • lemon,wedges of           4
  • seasoning
  • tomato                         1
  • lettuce leaves                2 
Step 1- First chop up your tomato into small pieces then chop up your lettuce leaves into small bits then put both the tomato and lettuce in a bowl together.

Step 2- Place your chicken pieces into a suitable dish

Step 3-Mix together the yogurt ,seasoning ,spices,garlic, lemon juice and tomato puree.

Step 4-Pour this over the chicken ,mix well and leave to marinate for at least 3 hours.

Step 5-In a suitable shallow tray, add the chopped onion and half the oil.

Step 6-Lay the chicken pieces in the grill ,turning the pieces over once or gently cook in a moderate oven at 180oC for 20-30 minutes.

Step 7-baste the remaining oil.

Step 8-Serve on a bed of lettuce garnished with wedges of lemon.

How to make flapjacks

Hi everybody in this post I will be telling how to make some flapjacks. Now most people love flapjacks some people don't and I personally really like them I quite like them when there gooey and crumbly. In this recipe the flapjacks have some icing on them but you don't have to do the icing. I will be telling you how to make the icing in my next post.

                                  This recipe will make 12 flapjacks

ingredients you will need
175g butter 175g light brown sugar 350g rolled oats 1/2 lemon-finely grated zest (this is optional)pinch of ground ginger
Line a Swiss roll tin with baking parchment.

pre-heat oven-150oC

Step 1- Combine the butter, syrup and sugar in a medium saucepan and heat gently until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.

Step 2- Take off the heat and stir in the oats, lemon zest and ginger. Mixing well
